Custom Design Process The process I like to follow is a simple and straightforward 3 step procedure that ensures the client receives exactly what they want. It's a partnership, really. Step 2 within about a week I'll respond with a concept drawing (perhaps several alternative solutions). There will be sufficient detail to highlight all the important design features and functionality and allow you to make an informed decision that this is what you want. I'll provide a preliminary estimate of cost and lead-time. At this stage I require a $200 design services fee (credited toward the final purchase). Step 3 a couple of weeks later I will deliver detailed scaled design drawings with all the dimensions, materials, hardware, and finish specified. If you desire, I will be happy to provide the full scale design drawings, shop drawings and cut lists. I'll provide a final quotation and lead time. After your review and acceptance (signed design drawing), you'll make a deposit of 50% (includes the $200 design fee).

Step
1 This is essentially a discovery process where
I learn from you just what your wishes are: the overall size
and function of the piece; the room it will reside in (textures,
colors, other furnishings), etc. You may have photos from
a magazine or a drawing of pieces you like, features you like
and so forth.
